EDUCATION
Many people are attracted to this part of the Northeast Kingdom because of the many educational opportunities. The towns offer good public schools for kindergarten through the eighth grade and some towns have their own public high schools. Those towns without public schools tuition their children to other schools, usually the school of your choice.
In addition to public schools, there are several private elementary schools such as The Riverside School, The Stevens School, and Good Shepard Catholic School. On the high school level, there is St. Johnsbury Academy, Lyndon Institute, the East Burke School and Burke Mountain Academy.
Those wishing to continue their education often choose Lyndon State College, The Community College of Vermont or Springfield College. Associates, Bachelors and Masters Degrees are available as well as doctorate degrees from the University of Vermont with Lyndon as its satellite location.
